I have finished calling all the orphanages I found in the yellow pages that are based in London and Brighton. I explained to each the sun child program and asked if they would be interested in volunteering any of their children towards the project during the winter months. A few have sound positive even though they say they had not one child that suffered form asthma or eczema. I find this very hard to believe as it is proven that one in four children suffer from asthma in the UK. Maybe only non orphaned children suffer these ailments. Having parents is to blame for these thwenty first century diseases. I find this very hard to believe.
The majority of the orphanages I have called have said they only have disabled children in their orphanage. Does that mean in the UK adults only abandon children when they find out they have been born with some form of physical or mental defect. This shocks and saddens me if it is the case.
Where do I go from here? What can I do next to give my Sunchild project life? Lead kindly light, through the glissening gloom, lead thou me on.
I am back in Brighton again. Am I where I want to be? Am I among the people I want to be around? Can I find a well paid job that I enjoy? Will my skin be in good condition? Can I spend a half a day a week helping suffering children here?
I wonder what motivates me and I just can't say. I want to be proud that it's the children with asthma and eczema.
